The DARE project was the idea of 1950's well-known linguist Frederick Cassidy, who sent field workers across the country to save Regional obscure expressions. In Maine "monkeys" marriages "are chaotic situations. In New Jersey" cockroach killers "are pointed shoes. In North Carolina "squibbles mumble" are noog. The first volume of DARE – "Dictionary of American Regional English, Volume 1: Introduction and AC "- was published in 1975, with additional volumes following. After 50 years of research the final volume "SZ", supplementing 75,000 entries will be published in 2010. Because Cassidy died in 2000, his gravestone reads: "AZ!"
Automakers have a difficult time because of the recession, but sales remain strong for the best in the country's best selling car – Little Tykes Cozy Coupe. The Little Tykes plant in Hudson, Ohio, operates 24 hours a day, turning a molded plastic, yellow and red sub-compact every minute. The biggest design change was made in 2009, when a happy face was added to stop the front of the car. While celebrating its 30th anniversary, the Cozy Coupe was inducted into Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum in Cleveland. Considering the low cost Tyke very reasonable $ 49 and requires no gas or batteries, hopefully Detroit will soon pedal cars that are fuel efficient too.

Scientists are using satellites to monitor weather coverage cloud and surface temperature rise. Both are indicators of heavy rains, which may be an indicator of disease. In September 2006 Dr. Assaf Anyamba, who tracks the climate data at Goddard Earth Science Center at NASA, has predicted heavy rains in East Africa. Heavy rains cause flooding, causing the outbreak of a specific type of mosquito eggs, which contain Rift Valley Fever. The first case of this fever was occurred in mid-December, giving authorities almost 4 months for mosquito control, public education and vaccination – which has prevented an epidemic. Sometimes even scientists are studying high and low for answers.
