The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which is responsible for the strategy of the EU aviation safety, has ordered an audit in potential defects with long-haul Airbus A330 and A340 jets, which carry sensors speed air transport provided by the U.S. manufacturer Goodrich.
The new controls comes just weeks after EFSA has restricted the use of alternative parts supplied by the French company Thales.
The EFSA said in a directive that there had been reports of accessories in bulk on some sensors Goodrich, known as Pitot probes. If not corrected, this could lead to leakage of air and speed readings from the false, he said.
