A program of distance education radar must be approved by the FAA for the value. There is a big demand for radar operators and technicians in the military and in the civilian world. The majority of air traffic controllers are civilian employees of the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
In the military, radar operators are responsible for determining the position of vessels, tracking aircraft and missiles, direct artillery fire, storm prediction and facilitate navigation. The radar operators also play a very important role that civil air traffic controllers, navigators of ships and technicians service.
To become an air traffic controller for the FAA, you must be a U.S. citizen and be under 30 years of age. It helps if your materials included high school science, algebra and geometry. A program of distance learning college radar which is not approved by the FAA may not have much value.
Training
The military offers classroom training and on job training to help operate and maintain equipment, identification of aircraft, missiles, ships and submarines. You also learned to calculate the direction, speed and altitude of an aircraft or a missile.
Currently, the FAA hiring People who are graduates of 14 schools approved across the United States. The list of approved schools is available at the FAA, and on the website of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA). The FAA has approved the college in May provides no radar distance learning programs.
After enrolling in a program approved by the FAA, students must take the test FAAs authorized pre-employment. You must receive a score qualification in the FAA-approved pre-employment testing, complete the program approved by the FAA and received a recommendation from school official to be eligible for employment by the FAA.
FAA-approved courses
Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology has formed a partnership with the FAA, which is called the Air Traffic Control – Training College Initiative. This program aims to prepare academic students who are interested in a career in air traffic control.
The Department of Aviation at Hampton University offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Air Traffic Control. This is one of the programs that were approved by the FAA.
A program Distance Learning radar that is not approved by the FAA may not help you find a job as an air traffic controller. Sure So whether you want the features of such approval. If approved, open investigation to determine if it meets your other needs.
