Who's firing is a weekly survey of organizations announcing (or rumoring) dismissals. Not only is this valuable for job seekers but financial analysts, business strategists, traders, sellers, financial analysts, financial advisors, and others who are interested in companies which are contracting parties.
Inclusion on this list does not mean the whole industry is down, like those of a same area appeared on the Who's Hiring "article published 10/12/09. It is interesting to note that if the Federal hiring is increasing, a number of state and local governments are still grappling with cuts. In addition, Verizon has led the lists of hiring top level, but also announces a number of redundancies. Boeing made the layoff list, even competing with the top manufacturers of aerospace Who's Hiring lists.
Job seekers: You may want to look for pastures greener than corporations.
Layoffs announced and rumors This week were in government, manufacturing, automotive, technology, publishing and energy sectors.
