What I'm looking into a lens to photograph the plane? Pub-4937145807549033
I am looking for a digital SLR Lens and good to start my hobby of aerial photography. I'm spotting at Imperial Hill LAX especially near airports and some like Las Vegas and San Francisco, etc. I was looking at a 70-300mm but wondering if I need image stabilization. Nikon, Canon? Which one I am looking for not fair. Budget is around 800-900 dollars. I'm also wouldnt get a kit with lens 18-55mm. EBay Great deals but what camera? Nikon D40 with 18-55mm, D50, D70s Kit Canon XT, XTi
XTi is slightly better than the Nikon D40 because it has more features. Personally, I do not think the body is that important. I'd rather get a strong body and a good magnifying glass. I saw some beautiful photos taken by the original Canon Digital Rebel (300D). I think the lens with the combination of good composition (framing) is more important than the camera body. If you have the budget for a 70-300mm with IS, that would be awesome. It will not help if you can find a lens because you can always use it for other things like photos of innocent people. IS will also overcast days if you need to use slow shutter speeds or those of 300 mm long plans. You can check http://pbase.com/cameras for real-world samples.
