Tips to reduce your CO2 emissions fall into a number of categories, with surface transportation (driving) and Aviation High of most lists.
Surface Transport is responsible for about one quarter of our CO2 emissions, which should increase in the future. In the past 30 years traffic on our roads has more than doubled. 5. Change your fuel. Many cars can use biofuels with little or no engine modifications. Biofuels are produced from crops such as rapeseed or sugar beet, and its combustion produces fewer emissions of greenhouse gases on climate change. Ask your garage or find a service station that sells already.
6. Keep your tires properly inflated. It is estimated that up to 80 percent of car tires are under-inflated, which can increase fuel consumption and hence emissions of up to 5 per cent, and increased wear normal.
7. Why not rent a car on a pay-as-you-drive system, rather than buying one?
8. Another idea is to share. You can ask your employer to do something to encourage a reduction in car use, such as showers for cyclists to use or run minibuses from local stations.
9. Driving with the windows closed. This reduces drag, which increases efficiency your fuel consumption and reduce your emissions. Drag can also be mitigated by removing heavy items and roof racks of the vehicle when you do not need to carry.
10. Turn off the engine if you are going to be stationary for more than two minutes. Waiting this long consume more fuel than it takes to restart the engine.
11. Change your driving style. Change speed to one smaller engine can reduce fuel consumption up to 15 percent. When approaching traffic lights, slow down gradually rather than continue to the same speed and sudden braking, acceleration and sudden braking can use up to 30% more fuel and can lead to increased wear and tear on the vehicle.
